What pitching drills should I be doing?
Answer: If the drill does NOT specifically help with a pitching skill you are wasting your time.
Pitching is a fine motor skill that takes total body coordination to accomplish.
That means it starts with your feet and ends at your finger tips at pitch release and follow through.
Pitching is not a drill, if it was anyone could master the “Pitching Drill” and be great at it.
Here is my simple answer to most.
If the pitching drill doesn’t help your Pitching Mechanics, Velocity, Pitch Movement or Pitch Location/Command then it is a waste of time.
Anything you do should make you better at pitching.
If you are just learning to throw, then practice throwing.
But if you want to be a better pitcher then practice pitching.
So please ask any instructor, coach or parent that is having you do a drill how does this translate into becoming a better pitcher.
If there is a little voice in the back of you mind saying this will never work or this doesn’t make a lick of sense.
If you have a question about it…
Ask me about it right here> (Ask Me Anything) and I will answer any doubt you might have.
Go Ahead and Ask. Don’t waste your limited, valuable practice time on useless drills.
